Class Evaluation

To take care of both meritorious and unacceptable behavior, the school has an Evaluation system in which the girls and boys are ranked "Very Good", "Good", "Satisfactory" and so on.
These rankings are based on both academic and personal behavior, both patterns of behavior are inter-related, and each is considered just as important as the other.

There are certain types of behavior for which the student may automatically incur a suspension or even dismissal at the discretion of the principal. Certain objectionable types of behavior are the following.

  1. Cheating in an examination.
  2. Rudeness to a staff member.
  3. Writing on or deliberately spoiling school furniture, equipment, or school books and magazines.
  4. "Bunking" of classes
  5. Using obscene, vulgar or abusive language or acting in an indecent manner.
  6. Making discriminatory remarks on the basis of caste, creed, color, or religion.
  7. Being absent from school without permission from the principal.
  8. Lack of co-operation in school activities.
  9. Stealing or any form of dishonesty.
  10. Regularly not doing homework or class assignments.
  11. Violence in any form, such as bodily harming or injuring anyone on the school premises.

Hints to Study Better

  1. Do your home study in a quiet place, away from all distractions.
  2. Do first the subject you like, then the rest of the work will be easier.
  3. Do all of the assignments. If you have written your homework in your diary correctly, you will be sure to do the right assignments.
  4. Do the assignments the way you are taught in the school.
  5. Do your best work, best thinking, and best writing. Check your work when you have finished.
  6. Ask yourself when you have finished whether you have done your best or not.
  7. Get enough physical exercises, It will help you to study better.
  8. If you have something to memorize, do it in the evening, then recall it again in the early morning.
  9. At the end of the week study all that was taught during the week. The regular tests are meant to help you to do this.
  10. Pray God before and after your studies to bless your efforts to succeed.

A. Guidelines for Discipline and Order:

  1. The motto of the school is "Towards Brightness and Prosperity".
  2. Conduct that is injurious to the moral values of the school or the rights of others and not in accord with the required discipline is liable to incur suspension or dismissal.
  3. Students are not allowed to receive visitors or make phone calls. They will not be permitted to leave their class to answer a phone call. Only if the matter is very urgent the student will be called to the phone.
  4. No students may leave the school premises during school hours or recess without the permission of the principal.
  5. Students who use the bus are to get into the bus in discipline and order.
  6. Students who come to school in the care of domestic workers should never leave school before they arrive to take them home. Those who go home alone, should not loiter on the way but be prompt in returning home.
  7. Students are expected to take good care to their books and personal belongings. Valuable articles may not be brought to school. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen goods.
  8. Care must be taken of school property. Students are forbidden to scratch or write in library books or other school books or magazines or spoil them in any destructive way.
  9. Students are encouraged to join the various activities of the school.
  10. Any student desiring to be exempted from PT or games must produce a doctor's certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part.
  11. No student should be sent to school if suffering from a contagious or infectious disease.

Rules for the Library

  1. All students must maintain silence in the library.
  2. Every Student will hold one library card which is not transferable. A book is issued for one week. The book must be returned within a week. Otherwise a fine is levied.
  3. Duplicate library cards will be issued only after the payment of Rs.25/-
  4. Every student must return the library card at the end of each academic year.
  5. When a student loses a library book he/she is required to replace the book or reimburse the school the price of a new book at the current rates.
  6. Library book can be re-issued only twice.

Teacher's Rights

  4. To expect support from all sections of the school community when carrying out disciplinary procedures.

Teachers' Responsibilities

  1. To treat others with respect, courtesy and fairness.
  2. To keep up to date with current practice, and to develop a relevant curriculum.
  3. To have adequate classroom management strategies and to apply consistent, relevant and just disciplinary / procedures.
  4. To prepare lessons which cater for the different learning styles and present them in a stimulating manner.
  5. To work in partnership with parents and to promote school/ family partnership.
  6. To ensure that all reasonable care is taken with regard to personal safety and security of all property.

Teachers' Expectation-As A Teacher, I Am Expected To:

  1. Behave in ways that safeguard, enhance and promote the right of individuals to a fruitful, productive and enjoyable experience at the school.
  2. Consistently use appropriate classroom management skills and balance active and passive learning. Apply school rules in a fair and just manner to all students.
  3. Set and assess students work at designated times, and suggest strategies for improvement.
  4. Keep students, parents and relevant staff informed regarding students progress.
  5. Supervise actively students at all times in an Endeavour to maintain a safe environment for students and property.

Parents' Responsibilities

  1. To treat others with respect, courtesy and fairness.
  2. To be open to the professional advice of teachers.
  3. To respect their child's individuality and his/her responsibility as a member of our community.
  4. To provide relevant information and to keep the channels of communication open.
  5. To support the ethos and pastoral care policy of the school.
  6. To respond positively to the formal and informal structures provided by the school.

Parents' Expectations-As A Parent, I Am Expected To

  1. Work with teachers to develop strategies that will help my ward (s) have a productive, fruitful and enjoyable experience at the school.
  2. Encourage my child to participate fully in all curricular and cocurricular activities.
  3. Be available for discussions regarding my child's performance.
  4. Support school policy regarding behavior, homework and uniform.
  5. Attend information sessions, Parent/Teacher/Student meetings and support Parents and Friends activities as far as possible.
